Miami-Dade is Conducting its First Jury Trial Online

The jury selection portion of the Miami-Dade Courts’ Virtual Jury Trial Pilot will commence on Thursday, July 9th. Jurors will appear in a Virtual Courtroom via Zoom.
 
Miami-Dade was one of five judicial circuits in Florida chosen to pilot the use of remote video appearance technology to inform future plans to safely resume jury trials during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
All phases of the Virtual Jury Trial Pilot will be live-streamed on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s YouTube channel and are open to the public. The jury selection portion will be conducted via a series of virtual jury panels on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the following times: 8:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
