Douglas D. Kemp

Douglas D. Kemp is a member of the firm’s General Liability practice defending a broad range of insurance defense cases ranging from automobile accidents, construction litigation, negligent security, and premises liability. He joined Conroy Simberg after almost eighteen years at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida where he served as the career law clerk for United States District Judge, the Honorable Sheri Polster Chappell and as a Staff Attorney working on Section 1983, Prisoner Civil Rights claims, habeas corpus reviews, and civil rights claims for individuals committed to Florida’s Civil Commitment Center.  After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Baylor University he continued his education by receiving a Master in Business Administration from Millsaps College.  He earned a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, and he served on the editorial board of The Stetson Law Review.  He is a founding member of the SWFL Federal Courts Bar Association, and past board member of the Lee County Association for Women Lawyers.  He is currently a member of the SWFL Federal Courts Bar Association and the Lee County Bar Association.
