Hollywood partners Tom McCausland, Chris Corkran, and Lauren McEndree, along with attorney Britanee Prince, recently achieved a favorable verdict in an admitted liability case in Broward County, Florida. The case involved a young woman who was rear-ended on I-95. Due to her age, she had no pre-existing conditions. As an alleged result of the accident, she underwent a discectomy and fusion in her lumbar spine.
During the trial, the plaintiff dropped her claim for past medical expenses, seeking only future medical expenses and pain and suffering. While the defendants conceded liability for the accident, they disputed the nature and extent of the alleged damages. In closing arguments, the plaintiff's counsel demanded over $11 million. In contrast, the defense suggested an award of $500,000. After approximately two hours of deliberation, the jury returned a verdict of $750,000, matching the defense's final offer before trial.
